A news report I'd like to read:
Legislators agree to stop receiving salaries whenever they cause a shutdown in the government, including all White House staff and employees.* Note: The Constitution reads that legislators will continue receiving wages in the event of a shut down.
Quotes a congress woman: "We all can see that our present leadership-communication skills have caused the shutdown; we're all blaming and enabling the President. We are tasked with running the government."
12/28/18 —after six days of the shutdown: Most legislators have gone home to enjoy their holidays instead of doing whatever it takes to ensure others are not doing without money during the holidays.
* Although President Trump has reportedly declined payment as President his relatives working in the White House are still receiving salaries, as are all the vacationing legislators. That is sad.
P.S. When someone asks for your vote ask if they will support a change in the Constitution.
