VA to support green burials

A news report I'd like to read
.
President Biden assures veterans that they will now have the option of being cremated as an entitlement provided for by the government.
Disabled veterans are presently entitled to a free plot (ostensibly for eternity) in a National Cemetery. Not very green. However, if the veteran wants to be cremated, with ashes disposed of as desired by relatives,
the vet must pay for the cremation
.
States a Senator from Hawaii, America buries millions more bodies in the ground each year, this burial policy will eventually have to be changed.
*
As of 2024 a cremation at Dodo Mortuary, Hilo, HI, with no burial, costs a veteran approximately $1000.00—includes a free urn.
*
Per the
World Death Clock
approximately 56 million people die each year.
