Charter School to co-create new communication model
« on: March 17, 2009, 02:52:56 AM »
News release I'd like to read:

Big Isle Charter School's newly co-created communication model to address the yin and yang of teaching.

A charter school on the Big Island of Hawaii is considering requiring an equal number of male and female teachers, and, only accepting students whose parents live together or whose children live equal amounts of time with both parents.

For generations females (mothers and teachers) have had the most contact-education time with children. Given this comparatively enormous amount of influential time mothers have had with children one would think that children would be raised to treat each other impeccably fair in all aspects of life. Why then do we still have so few women CEOs and public leaders, and the condescending male-female wage inequities in the market place?

Few will deny that mothers and teachers (mostly female) say all the right words regarding peace, equality, financial parity, and responsibility, yet the results show that communication, with insignificant exceptions, is not taking place. For example: Most every child has been "taught" that blaming others for outcomes produced is irresponsible, still, as with divorces, blaming is the automatic norm for most couples.

Is there something about the way women communicate that produces this result, or, do children require an equal number of interactions with males and females, both at home and at school, so that certain truths are gotten and automatically lived from?

Could it be that subjects such as sex education, ethics, integrity, and responsibility must be communicated verbally to each child by both males and females? Perhaps such communications aren’t completely gotten if, say, only a female delivers the object lesson. This makes sense given that most everyone has a pretty good understanding about how to have life work but that so few are able to choose (say with eating correctly) to do what works. Something is missing.

Perhaps it’s time for men to accept equal responsibility for educating our youth. It's possible that for children to be whole and complete they require equal time with adult males and females and, interactions with senior citizens be they grandparents or surrogate elders.

The Charter School will be requiring all teachers and parents to attend a weekend-long leadership-relationship communication-skills workshop for the purpose of co-creating a new communication model, a new way of relating with children.

Comments/suggestions welcome.
